» the Anthropologist - pasiune si inspiratie

"The Anthropologist is an online venue that exposes the passions and
pursuits of emerging and established artists in the pursuit of inspiration."

Atat.
Restul descoperiti aici.

Asa aratau in varianta premergatoare cosmetizarii...

» Arta Stil Costum

"Arta, Stil, Costum, prima si singura istorie a costumului universal scrisa in Romania"

Note: for my non-Romanian readers, as I have changed the language for the blog from English to Romanian, please fell free to use the translation tool in the right sidebar.

» What kept me away from posting

I was telling in the previous post that I had an absence of posting in the last.. what? 4 months? wow... My reason is that I haven't had so much inspiration for making things or writing on this blog (I was more active on my other two blogs - fotogravika and blovika) or maybe because it was the Spring that kept me mostly outside or just other reasons. I've started few bags, but never finished them... I've drawn a few sketches in my notebook, but didn't had the chance to put them in practice... I also had the radical idea of closing this blog. But I am so glad that I didn't and I'm back now.

And if you are curious to know what other things kept me busy lately, here are some descriptive images...

We had some great time in the last months in Berlin

In June we took a plane and moved to Bucharest and we were very happy to meet our families and friends... but we already miss Berlin and its friends very much

Got married in the middle of the summer :)

Had a short but wonderful escape at the Black Sea side

And now we are in the middle of a challenging project: DIY house remodeling

Oh, and last but not least, Koshka - the cat, who is helping ('sleeping' - translated into cat's language) a lot all day long :P

Wish you all a great weekend!

» Cravings for sewing

Huh, long time no see... It seems that my muses took a long deserved vacation and I didn't post anything for a while. It was a though-crazy period of time, with some changes in my life (I'm going to share some of them in another post). But I feel like posting and sharing again (so many ideas and projects are in my head and I must put them here, in order to make some space for others ;) ).

Just bought my copy of the August issue of Burda magazine and my hands are excited to start sewing, but I have to wait a little bit as there is another project to be finished: the house remodeling. It takes a while... until then, I picked some delightful pieces:

» Green Food

Yesterday we had a gorgeous weather outside; the sun was shining almost all day long, besides the beautiful cloudy moments, the birds were chirping and flying happily in the air. This kind of weather makes you feel better, healthier, gives a lot of energy that we've missed a lot during the cold, dark winter.

And what is healthier than a green salad at lunch time? All fresh ingredients full of vitamins and fibers: lettuce (vitamin A, folic acid), broccoli (vitamin C, vitamin K), rucola (vitamin C, potassium), champignons (vitamin B, sodium, potassium and phosphorus) and for a bit of aroma a bunch of basil leaves. Chopped and mixed with some olive oil, white vinegar and salt result in a delicious summer (or early spring :) ) salad.

Small tip: try to chop the mushrooms at the very end, because they become softer very quickly, get a darker color and lose their original flavor while in contact with air.

Bon apetit!

» [Flying Umbrellas Bags] Purple Spring

As a result of my purple mood a little while ago and thanks to a nice request from a dear admirer, Dana from Bucharest, a new beautiful bag was born.

When I create a new bag I either follow my notebook sketches or I try to find inspirations instantly, with just a look around me :). For this bag two sources inspired me: the pleated skirts and the flowers of Ranunculus. When I was 'sculpturing' the shape of the bag, the bottom part looked very similar to a pleated skirt; the texture of the fabric, very close to velvet, if pleated, gives the bag a nice posture. The flower shape of Ranunculus flowers and how the petals bond themselves in a whirlpool movement, gave me the inspiration for the applications on the upper part, which I have embroidered by hand.

Because with every bag I make, I learn new techniques and discover new tips and tricks, this time I have made some improvements for the inner part, the lining, which is more accurately sewed and the pockets, which are more spacious and more resistant.

» Antique Inspirations - A Heart in Provence Blog

I haven't told yet you about a beautiful blog that I've discovered a while ago, but now is the perfect moment for doing this, because it seems that in the heart of Provence the air was filled up with purple rays, colors of hydrangea.

The name is just as beautiful as the blog itself: A Heart in Provence. And if you prefer the original, French version here it is Un Coeur en Provence.

The lady behind is Laeriss and she says that her "heart belongs to Provence" where she was born, she is passionate about "decoration, antiques, nature, its colors and scents". "I’d like to bring you my accent and the colours of my region: Provence (South of France)."

And she surely does this by surprising in some gorgeous images the details of her beautiful country, her precious findings, her passions. Here is just a drop of them:
